Our very special 2 episode return to adventure continues with Ty and Laurel.  We discuss how sad it is that Neighbours is closing (still...).  We have strap on wackiness, try to figure out if we're looking at a baby bird or Laurel's hat, and travel down the mystical road of vajazzling.  Ew...

Robert Rodi was born in Chicago in the conformist 1950s, grew up in the insurrectionist 1960s, came of age in the hedonist 1970s, and went to work in the elitist 1980s. This roller-coaster ride has left him with a distinct aversion to isms of any kind; it also left him with an ear for hypocrisy, cant, and platitudes that allowed him, in the 1990s, to become a much-lauded social satirist.
After seven acclaimed novels set in the gay milieu (Fag Hag, Closet Case, What They Did to Princess Paragon, Drag Queen, Kept Boy, Bitch Goddess and When You Were Me), Robert grew restless for new challenges and decided to re-brand himself as an author of nonfiction. His first endeavor, Dogged Pursuit: My Year of Competing Dusty, the World's Least Likely Agility Dog, was released by Hudson Street Press in 2009. His newest effort, Seven Seasons In Siena: My Quixotic Quest for Acceptance Among Italy's Proudest People, is a 2011 release from Ballantine Books.
He is also republishing his early novels as e-books under the heading Robert Rodi Essentials, and has also released an original novel, The Sugarman Bootlegs, as a digital download.
Robert is the creator of several comic-book series, including Codename: Knockout and The Crossovers, and he has written a number of series for Marvel, including Elektra, Rogue, Tomb of Dracula, Astonishing Thor, Loki and Thor: For Asgard.
Robert's shorter fiction can be found in a number of anthologies, including Men On Men 5, His, and Sandman: Book of Dreams, and his novella Glad, Gladder, Gladys was serialized online at USAToday.com. His literary criticism has appeared in the pages of The Chicago Tribune, The Los Angeles Times, NewCity, and The Harvard Gay and Lesbian Review. He blogs about the Chicago performing arts scene for The Huffington Post, and pens his own self-proclaimed "guerilla lit-crit" blog on Jane Austen, Bitch In a Bonnet.
He was a founding member of the Chicago-based performance art troupe, The Pansy Kings, who were active throughout the 1990s, and he wrote sketches for the Live Bait Theater's revues Junk Food and Dear Jackie: The Queen of Camelot Remembered. Recently he became an auxiliary member of the monologuist ensemble BoyGirlBoyGirl.
Robert still lives in Chicago, in a century-old Queen Anne house with his partner Jeffrey Smith and a constantly shifting number of dogs.

Bill English’s rapture Budget
Published: May 20, 2011
by frog
Noelle McCarthy at the NZ Heraldreports:
We’re on the way out. The world is going to end on May 21, according to a man called Harold Camping. Harold runs Family Radio in Oakland California. He has predicted the end of the world by doing maths with the Bible. Having crunched the numbers in the Book of Genesis, he’s fairly certain tomorrow will be the day when it all kicks off.
Perhaps that’s also how Bill English got his GDP per capita growth predictions that supposedly see the Government accounts in a healthy surplus by 2014-15

Hunger Games
http://youtu.be/Z_jw3z68TW0
Welcome to Team Katniss, Portia and Octavia!
Lionsgate officially announced today that the glam squad-like roles have been filled by actresses Latarsha Rose and Brooke Bundy, respectively.
But who are the two actresses lucky to win the casting lottery?
Meet Latarsha Rose, who will be playing the role of Peeta Mellark's stylist, Portia.
Rose has appeared in bit roles on All My Children, CSI, Bones, Swingtown, Windfall, and Law & Order. Ironically, Rose also appeared onthe 2002 reality show, The It Factor, which followed 12 New York City actors as they go about the struggle of "making it" in the entertainment business.
Welcome to the big leagues, Rose!
Brooke Bundy, a relative newcomer who has two short films and one fairly unknown feature to her name, will be playing the role of Octavia, a member of Katniss Everdeen's prep team.
Octavia and Portia are both likeable characters from the offensively opulent Capitol, where kids don't have to enter the horrific Hunger Games lottery. They'll most likely be getting fairly small amounts of screen time, but who knows!
Now for that juicy role of Katniss' main stylist Cinna...
Stop teasing us Lionsgate and just tell us who will be filling those fabulous shoes!

Bad Actor Productions brings their campy nonsense and anarchic deviance to bear on the trashy world of 1990's Lifetime Movies — the kind of trashy psychotic plot-defying guilty pleasure we secretly binged on with our moms! Women In Peril feeds the movies of Judith Light, Tori Spelling, and Meredith Baxter-Birney into a gender-bending blender and whips up a delicious satirical souffle of the infamously exploitative television-for...-women genre. Will the heroines overcome their [tragic loss/eating disorder/drug addiction/homicidal urges] in time to save their [tweaked out learning impaired teenage daughter/obsessed gender-confused lover/sociopathic next door neighbor] from [impending obscurity/complete psychological breakdown/unspeakable violence/drag overdose/hallucinatory musical numbers]? Find out this Spring when Annex Theatre hosts Bad Actors Productions in Women In Peril!

Royal Wedding
The wedding of Prince William and his bride-to-be Kate Middleton has received immense media coverage and is expected to be receive more than one billion viewers worldwide Friday.
With such great media attention surrounding the wedding, more specific details have been made public as the date grows closer. About 1,900 people have been invited to the ceremony at Westminster Abbey. About 650 guests were invited to the lunchtime reception at Buckingham Palace to be hosted by the queen.
Approximately 300 guests were invited to dinner, also at Buckingham Palace, to be hosted by the prince of Wales. More than 50 members of the royal family are expected to attend, along with other members of royal families from other foreign countries.
Security for the big day will include enough police and guards to form a small army.  London’s police force, the Metropolitan Police, is putting 5,000 officers on duty for the day.
Chief Inspector Jessica Wadsworth said there were no signs the royal wedding was being targeted by terrorists but the Met Police were taking no chances.
"For an event such as this we have put a meticulous plan into operation. What we have done since the engagement announcement 22 weeks ago is plan for this day and identify any risks," Inspector Wadsworth said, according to published reports.
The royal wedding has captured the world’s attention not only because of the glamorous and royal aspect, because for some, to witness an event of this magnitude is a once-in-a-lifetime chance that will undoubtedly go down in history.

Becoming Chaz
Chaz Bono documentary Becoming Chaz will launch the OWN Documentary Film Club on Tuesday, May 10 (8–10 p.m. ET/PT).

Los Angeles, CA — The world television premiere of the highly anticipated Chaz Bono documentary Becoming Chaz, the story of Chaz Bono's transformation from a woman to a man, will launch the OWN Documentary Film Club on Tuesday, May 10 (8–10 p.m. ET/PT) on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network. Immediately following the film, OWN Documentary Film Club collaborator Rosie O'Donnell will host a one-hour primetime special event from 10–11 p.m. ET/PT. In the special, O'Donnell will talk with Chaz, his girlfriend Jennifer Elia, the filmmakers and other transgender people and their families about this life changing experience.

Becoming Chaz is the story of Chaz Bono's emotional and physical gender transition, a journey of identity and self-discovery. Born Chastity, the only child of the legendary musical team Sonny and Cher, Chaz grew up feeling uncomfortable in the spotlight, struggling to live inside a body that he knew wasn't truly his. Deciding there was no choice but to undergo sex reassignment surgery, Chaz and his girlfriend Jennifer decided to document his deeply personal transformation so that others can learn from his experience. Directed and produced by veteran Sundance filmmakers Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato, who along with their production company World of Wonder, have been the creative forces behind a long history of powerful, groundbreaking and innovative documentaries and features.

Becoming Chaz premiered to rave reviews at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival with the Los Angeles Times calling the film "wildly engaging." The Hollywood Reporter said, Becoming Chaz is a real-life look inside the home and hearts of two brave and glorious individuals. Told with finesse, compassion and wit...will hit nerves and touch hearts." AOL Moviefone called it "an engaging and educational look at one person's journey to make his outsides match his inside," and CNN called it "incredibly moving."

The one hour special with Rosie O'Donnell following the film will be executive produced by Hud:sun Media for OWN. Michael Rourke is the executive producer and Mioshi Hill is the co-executive producer of the special.

Real World GAY
Dustin Zito of "Real World: Las Vegas" is straight. That's no secret.
What is, however, is his gay porn past.
The 24-year old Louisiana native comes from a rough background, and to escape, he headed to Los Angeles. There, he got involved a website called FratPad, which used streaming video cameras to document attractive young men living together. And often times, do much more than just hang out.
It's a secret he's thus far kept from his roommates, and in Wednesday's premiere episode, he even hooked up with a (female) cast member named Heather.

JT Hooker's early music inspiration comes from 80s Pennsylvania garage punk and 90s German Digital Hardcore. In the late 90s, Hooker got heavily involved with college radio, holding positions as Music, Hiring, and Training Directors. JT grew global record label relations across all genres, charted weekly to CMJ, created the University of Pittsburgh's remote outdoor broadcasting events, interviewed a wide range of musicians at the University of Sheffield (England), and held down the 9-11PM Saturday slot at New York University radio.

Shortly after moving to Seattle from NYC in Dec'06, JT learned motorcycle and lived on the Pacific Coast, Vancouver>Tijuana for 8 months. When he got back, Hooker built an audio/visual mobile station ("the shopping cart") and started 12hr notice (twelve hour notice) events- mostly guerrilla-style street parties, announced the day-of. In March '10 at the now-defunct "The Hole", Hooker helped throw after hours parties and curated the Open Wide film/ installation/ photography event.

With a year under his belt, Hooker brings the party inside to Seattle bars/ clubs/ private events. JT DJs and mixes eclectic tunes, runs thoughtful beatbox effects over other DJs, and creates live, customized video projections and lighting installations at some of the best parties in Seattle + beyond. Hooker collaborates with some of Seattle's best parties/venues such as ETG, Pony, Chop Suey, Re-bar, The Uniting Souls, The Church of Bass, The Baltic Room, Bumbershoot, The War Room, Three Dollar Bill Cinema, Cal Anderson Park, The Eagle, Qulture Qreative, trapeze parties @ The Emerald City Aerial Dome, Capitol Hill's Hollow Earth Radio, and various events on the empty lot of 500 Pine with The People's Parking Lot.

Hooker currently holds a monthly DJ residency at The Eagle called ROUGH TRADE (usually third Thursdays, always no cover), and monthly VJ residencies for the Uniting Souls' ((DIALED)) parties at The Baltic Room (fourth Saturdays) as well as Qulture Qreative's LEZBRO party at The Wildrose (second Fridays).

What shapes a man’s life more? Being molested at age seven, having a gruff father ashamed of him for being effeminate, or being humiliated by school bullies for being a sissy? In the memoir, Shorn: Toys to Men, author Dennis Milam Bensie chronicles his journey from damaged boy, self-medicating by cutting the hair of shoplifted Barbie dolls, to confused young man, paying hundreds of gay street hustlers to let him shave their heads. Bensie demonstrates how hair can be currency—a moral gauge for good and bad, male and female, lawful and unlawful. The world of theater is his backdrop, a sanctuary where he gradually spins fantasy into reality. After getting his start in community theater, Bensie moves up to professional houses throughout the United States, turning his private sexual conflict over haircutting into a successful career as a skilled theatrical wig designer. Humorous and honest, this book is a uniquely tangled love story, a triumphant quest for love, forgiveness and self-acceptance.
