Twas the night before NaNo, and all through the forums
Not a creature was stirring, not even SexyDoorFrames
The coffee was stacked next to the maker with care
In hopes that a plot arc soon would be there

Non-NaNo'ers were nestled all snug in their beds
While dreams of fanfiction danced in their heads
And the tea in it's thermos, and us in our wraps
Have settled on our couches for long November word scraps

When up in the chat, there arose such a clatter
We sprang our mouses and clicked, to see what was the matter
Away to the window, we flew like a flash
And were greated with frolics by NGseries, aka: Ash

The Forums all buzzing, with us awaiting the threads
Gave us all NaNo hope, while we plotted in our heads
To plot lines and characters, plot arcs and bling
To settings and genre, with other literary things

With his little red hat, and his wheelborrow from home
I new in an instant, it's the NaNoWriMo Gnome
There in a flash, the Looney Lounge came
As NaNo novelists we called out by name

Now Rita and Bitter Epiphany, now Drecklin and Jay
Now Weasley Twin Mom, Sly and AnnaKay
To Jazzeh, to Celtic, to Georgia and Selene
To Gingersnape, Lilyfire, TimeTurner and Melian

There are help threads with cheats, to get you on your way
And word races galore, to prod you along to Fifty K
You're very sure to reach your own novel goal
With patience, determination, and self control

And then in a blip, we see on our screen
Through all of the carbs, and all the caffiene
The threads, they began to fill up the forum
Adorned with the Gnome, like NaNo decorum

He was dressed all in blue, from his head to his feet
And on his face a beard, all combed nice and neat
A wheelborrow he pushed, with lots of NaNo gear
And we all knew November 1st was drawing quite near

With a look at the clock, we went straight to our work
Midnight soon aproached, we noted with a smirk
And laying our fingers down on the keys
Our writing addiction rose, like a disease

And as the clock rung, the keys we did strike
To plot and to twist, for thirty full nights
But as we zone out, during all night and day
We'll leave you with this: "See you in Fifty K"
